Essential Skills:This function focuses on the management of significant and strategic projects within the Marketing Services and Research area. Projects concentrate on new customer centric marketing programs and may involve developing new business processes and changes to existing technical systems. Projects are typically multi-disciplinary across Walgreens lines of business and within the Marketing department. This position requires a broad knowledge of the retail business and comprehensive knowledge of core business functions: Finance, Marketing, and Operations. Strong project management, analytic, and quantitative skills are required. o Manage large, complex pilot projects. Organizes, directs, and controls the activities of projects that are national in scope.o Create and manage project documentation including project charter and MS project plan. Identify and mange project scope and constraints. Create and implement project governance and communication procedures. o Projects involve participation from and impact multiple functions in various lines of business. Indirectly manages resources across business units and lines of business to complete projects. o Project work typically has a sizeable impact on the corporation and typically has significant budget responsibilities. o Directs project activities to ensure high quality results within defined time and budget schedules. Ensures projects are completed within established time and budget schedules, and that objectives conform to corporations overall standards and operations objectives and user requirements. o Track and report progress on project. o Resolves conflicts by demonstrating leadership and appropriate decision making competencies with the resources (direct or indirect) assigned to the project effort. o Oversee and implement project closure procedures.Qualifications:o Requires 5 or more years experience in addition to a Bachelors or Masters Degree, or equivalent experience. Degree in Marketing or related field preferred. o Project management background with some exposure to strategic planning and marketing program development. o In depth understanding Walgreens’ business as well as broad understanding of core business functions including finance, operations, and marketing. o The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently and be able to manage multiple projects. o Exceptional skills in the following areas required: o Leadership and problem resolution o Presentation, writing, and interpersonal skillso Time management and attention to detail o Experience working with senior management o MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project .
