Contracts Analyst

POSITION TYPE: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/ProjectJOB CATEGORY: Other Contracts Analyst This position requires knowledge and experience to perform contract closeouts. The successful candidate shall possess a thorough knowledge of a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures as they pertain to the federal government contracting arena. The successful candidate shall also utilize their knowledge and application of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to exercise sound judgment when meeting time sensitive deadlines and milestones. Must possess the ability to work independently with minimum supervision. The candidate shall be expected to perform a variety of acquisition related tasks as they relate to research and analysis of complex acquisitions that demonstrate an applied skill and knowledge of the acquisition life cycle. The candidate must be fully capable of analyzing statements of work for accuracy, providing guidance to customers, assisting in the preparation of acquisition plans, preparing solicitations, conducting negotiations, and formulating award documents. The candidate will be required to attend training of the Electronic Contract Management System (eCMS), the VA’s contract writing application, which must be utilized daily. The candidate’s skill set shall be consistent with the following series and grade: GS–1102–13/14.RequirementsLength of Service: 12 months or longerEducation/Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Procurement, Business, Accounting, Marketing, Economics, etc. Candidates should possess ten ormore years of federal government contracting experience.
