Controller for Rapidly Growing Company

 

 

CONTROLLER

 

Hero Nutritionals is a leading provider of nutritional supplements fot the entire family, and has been the #1 seller of children's vitamins in the country for over ten years.

 

Responsibilities will include:

a)  Developing and tracking financial processes, procedures and initiatives, with ability to report and explain for understanding by all non-finance management personnel

b)  Tracking all revenue and expenses, with daily, weekly and monthly reporting

c)  Managing all Accounting procedures including approval of invoices, deposits, check requests, purchase orders, credit card authorizations, petty cash

d)  Managing Purchasing, Materials Management, Production, Shipping and Warehouse operationsPurchasing:  Sourcing suppliers, raw materials, packaging; Inventory controlMaterials Management: Receiving, stocking, production, finished inventory control, shippingProduction:  Scheduling, crew management, maintenance

e)  Providing President and all departments with sales and marketing reports, including Forecasts, Cost of   Goods, Inventory, Sales, and other ad hoc reports as needed

f)  Implementing newly purchased accounting system smoothly and accurately; ensuring all personnel are trained effectively

g)  Researching, evaluating, implementing and supervising all new equipment purchases and installation

h)  Managing Payroll Operations

i) Implementing procedures to ensure returns, fees, bill backs and other cost related items are under control within 60 days



j)  Decreasing cost of goods by certain percentages by year-end

k)  Developing and achieving certain monetary goals and reporting functions for international and private label accounts

l)  Leading supervisors, accountant, and staff personnel: Warehouse & Shipping; Production: Order Desk; Accountant; Receptionist, with realistic stretch performance goals

m) Fostering a service oriented, collaborative environment across the organization

n)  Reviewing and recommending appropriate insurance coverages to protect Company and employees

 

Qualifications Required:

§ 7-10 years experience in nutritional,  food supplement,  pharmaceutical or related industry

§ Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree or CPA desirable

§ Experience required in Inventory Control processes, Quality Assurance systems

§ Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

§ Excellent communication and negotiation skills, to establish effective relationships with vendors, suppliers and outsourced functions

§ High energy, initiative to recommend and implement improvements

§ Strong familiarity with current industry-specific and general tax laws and regulations

 

Hours of Work, Compensation and Benefits:

§ Full-time, 8:00- 5:00 or as required to provide reporting needs

§ Salary commensurate with experience, skills and abilities

§ Medical/Dental/Vision benefits subsidized by Company

§ Two weeks vacation, six sick days/year

§ Company wide and individual bonus programs under development
