Primary Responsibilities: Develop control architecture design and system models. Define system requirements and specifications. Perform model analysis, algorithm development, code generation and system integration. Validate and test models, software and physical systems. Create prototype and production embedded software code for advanced system controllers. Author reports, create presentations and document intellectual property. Maintain a working knowledge of new technologies that may improve operations.   This position will design and develop advanced active suspension products from concept to production, including: adaptive damping, air suspension and active roll control Interact with customers, suppliers, and team members to achieve program objectives. Collaborate with Vehicle Dynamics group to develop advanced systems. Provide technical leadership and supervision.   Education/Experience: Masters or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering specializing in active control system design. Minimum of 5-10 years experience in active vehicle control system design. Technical capabilities must include “hands-on” experience in: Modern and advanced control theory; including optimal, adaptive, loop shaping, IMC, LQR, fuzzy logic, etc. Algorithm development and optimization.Dynamic system modeling, analysis and model validation. MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow modeling, control design, and simulation. Rapid prototyping systems, such as MotoHawk or dSPACE. Implementation of SIL, HIL and full system integration. C, C++ embedded programming. Microprocessor based real-time control. Power electronics and signal conditioning. Experimental tools (data acquisition, filters, signal analyzers, etc.) Knowledge of advanced undercarriage systems; especially adaptive or active damping, air suspension, active roll control, active vibration control. An understanding of vehicle dynamics. Vehicle tuning and calibration experience . Experience with code generation utilizing Real Time Workshop. Familiarity with electronic hardware and circuit board design. 3 or more years of Automotive OEM or Tier-1 experience preferred.Knowledge of a typical automotive product development process, including specifics such as FMEA, DVP&R and PSW. Vehicle communication BUS structures, including; CAN, SAE J1850, FlexRay Salary/Pay Rate: $120k+ for the right candidate!!
