Currently, in our Process Support – Family Care Department; we are seeking a Converting Mechanic for our Everett, WA location. Summary: Conveting Mechanic responsible for performing predictive & preventative tasks associated with industrial equipment.* Perform major repairs & modifications to paper converting machines.* Mounting of tapered & roller bearings and fabrication of parts. * Repair and troubleshooting gearboxes, finger spliced belts & unlaced belts, conveyor systems, and chain & timed pulley assemblies.* Identify defects in equipment during maintenance checks.* Lead, plan & organize work, including parts and labor.* Work with operations to resolve issues* Plan work, identify parts and learn the computerized maintenance system for offering job materials or writing work orders.Qualifications: Basic:* Journeyman State certification or formal 4 year apprenticeship.* Basic PC skills.* Proficient at using hand tools, portable electric tools & stationary equipment. Preferred:* HS diploma or GED and Journeyman License.* Practice & understand rigging fundamentals.* Possess component rebuild skills.* Welding, hydraulic troubleshooting repair skills.* Familiar with the mechanics behind unwind technology, paper folding, cutting & packaging equipment* Machinist skills as related to the operation of finishing maintenance shop equipment.Other:* A strong commitment to working effectively in a team environment* Strong communication and leadership skills, including self-motivation.* High degree of “people” skills and be able to effectively communicate with many different people on a daily basis.* Ability to work in a manufacturing atmosphere and safely follow practices and regulations.* Work with little or no supervision and in a team to complete.* Strong time management skills to meet deadlines. * Ability to work with heights, pits and in confined spaces.* Ability to work overtime and weekends if needed.
