Currently, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support our Folded Tissue Converting Production Process at our production facility in Everett, Washington.Summary: Provide leadership and creativity in the design, development, optimization and implementation of our Folded Tissue Converting production processes. Initiate, design, develop, optimize and problem solve manufacturing processes in a manner that meets safety and performance expectations. The candidate should have technical expertise across multiple technologies and have demonstrated ability to effectively interface with all team members. The incumbent reports to the UCTAD Process System Leader and receives direction in the form of specific objectives. Key customers include: UCTAD Converting support team, production operators and maintenance technicians. Responsibilities 1) Lead various product or process improvement projects from conception to commercialization (up to $5 million). 2) Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation, design, development and optimization of tissue converting and manufacturing equipment and processes. 3) Develop knowledge and skills in application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management. 4) Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well being of operators, maintenance and other personnel. 5) Seek, recognize, define and solve problems/ opportunities to achieve unit objectives. Identify complex technical issues to determine root cause. Initiate, design, optimize and develop manufacturing and supporting processes. Qualifications 1) Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant scientific discipline. 2) Knowledge and background in folded tissue converting process and equipment, including technology understanding and development, and translation to executing process and capacity improvements on capital projects. 3) 6-10 years of experience in a variety of assignments 4) Ability to work independently or lead a team to complete projects within required timeframes.5) Demonstrated leadership in achieving results. Preferred Qualifications 1) Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant scientific discipline. 2) Strong knowledge and background in folded tissue converting, including technology understanding and development, and translation to executing process and capacity improvements on major capital projects. 3) 6-12 years of experience in a variety of plant and staff assignments, including maintenance and operations. 4) Ability to work independently or lead a team to complete projects within required timeframes.
