Customer Service Representative (English-Cantonese/Mandarin
San Francisco Health Plan is a dynamic, friendly HMO with a mission of providing affordable health care coverage for the people of San Francisco. As a not-for-profit public agency, we serve Medi-Cal, Healthy Families and Healthy Kids and Young Adults recipients, children of working parents and other City residents who might otherwise be left without health care. We are seeking a bilingual (English-Cantonese/Mandarin) Customer Service Representative (CSR). This position is part of the Customer Service team which provides support to SFHP customers across all our lines of business: Medi-Cal, Healthy Families, Healthy Kids & Young Adults (HKYA), and the exciting new Healthy San Francisco Program.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Provides telephone service to San Francisco Health Plan customers, including Health Plan members, prospective members, providers, staff members and the general public.
2.Responds to inquiries concerning such topics as: physician assignment changes, health plan benefits, access to health services, enrollment in SFHP programs, and requests for program information.
3.Handles customer complaints according to SFHP policies and procedures.
4.Provides timely, appropriate, and linguistically competent responses to all inquiries.
5.Works with employees from other SFHP departments to respond to customer inquiries.
6.Assumes responsibility for additional department-related projects as assigned by the department Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Fluency (speaking, reading & writing) in English and Chinese.
2.Experience with providing telephone customer service or a related field.
3.Computer literate in a MS Windows and MS Office environment.
4.Ability to exercise discretion in working with confidential information.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Ability to communicate in Spanish or Vietnamese, in addition to English and Chinese (trilingual).
2.Familiarity with health care industry and managed care terminology.
