Duties may include any of several areas: database design, maintenance and backups, and data reporting, SQL scripting, be creative in designing and providing database solutions for projects and business units. May also require daily data processing and system analysis to determine problems, find solutions, and execute implementations of solutions, provide feedback to management regarding computer system efficiencies and inefficiencies.This is a fully qualified professional who applies a broad knowledge of database management and administrative support concepts, practices and procedures. Requires documentation of database systems, designs, maintenance procedures, and system performance. Can work under little to no supervision with results expected to be production ready. Work involves considerable coordination and interface with client and ACS staff. Must be accurate and quick regarding decisions and database solutions.REPRESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Create database maintenance jobs, create single or multiple server/database solutions. Must be able to create and apply change patches to test and production environments with no to little error. Must be able to analyze and report to management the affects of such changes. Work with clients and ACS staff to produce functional design requirements, data design and data definition documentation and utilize them in their work. Be able and willing to be on-call for system maintenance and rollouts following client terms. Provides input regarding equipment purchase and solutions. Very large and complex database experience needed. May conduct/compile/make special analyses, reports and presentations of system and database performance, etc., as required. Reports for data definitions, process flow and control, architectural representations and details required.Education and Typical Years of ExperiencePrimary Skills and Qualifications: 7 + years overall SQL Server experience 4 + years of data architecture experience 2 + years working on large and complex environment Excellent oral/written communication skills Ability to work with business operations and technical staff at multiple levels Demonstrated technical competence in the areas of data modeling and data architecture Hands on experience modeling data (preferably reporting services and SharePoint services), Hands on database administration experience. Extensive experience tuning SQL Server and writing stored procedures in TSQL Significant experience developing and communicating data architecture, data quality, and data integration policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures Proven ability to collaboratively plan, document, and present data strategies, achieve buy-in from IT leadership, and manage the strategy implementation process Proven ability to perform complex analysis, and prepare documentation which establishes business objectives, problems, options, and makes recommendations Extensive experience with data conversion Strong understanding of SQL Server 2005 and 64 bit environments, Windows environments Experienced in ANSI-SQL, TSQL, DTS, SSIS package creation and maintenance,Import/Export, Replication, Database Mirroring,Referential Integrity, Distributed Views Must possess excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; solid time and project management skills; the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently Experience leading project teams a big advantage Responsibilities: Design and architect solutions related to data modeling, data integration, and data warehousing Take ownership of assigned data issues, coordinate meetings with various teams and drive to resolution Work with development teams to integrate the data architecture with applications Work with development and data conversion teams to optimize SQL and other programs through analysis using SQL tools Ensure optimal performance of the database component of the system solution Contributes to the development of formally documented data architecture principles, policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures A Bachelors degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience. Minimum 7-10 years of progressively responsible related technical experience, including 7 years systems design experience in a large-scale computer/systems environment and 4 years with major responsibility for developing, revising and controlling technical documentation of a complex systemSpecial RequirementsSQL Server 2005; database design and architecture, performance tuning from design to maintenance, stored procedures, table design, long-term experience in design efficiencies, debugging, analyses. All database concepts a must! Must be willing to self relocate to Utah or be a local candidate. This includes a precise working knowledge of standard database design and management concepts, practices, and procedures including backups, complex index tuning, stored procedures, performance hints, functions, data types, database modeling, multi-server environments, distributed views, or other job-related disciplines, etc. Certification in field also helpful. C# programming or other related programming experience is a definite plus.
