Currently, we are seeking a Director, Accounting Standards for our Dallas, Texas location. SummaryEnsure that Kimberly-Clark Corporation’s (K-C) financial reporting complies with external accounting and reporting rules, applicable business and staff employees, senior management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors are fully informed on all relevant new accounting and reporting developments and that K-C’s Corporate Financial Instructions (CFIs) are maintained in a current and useful manner to communicate and implement accounting and reporting policies. In addition, this position is responsible for working with the business and staff teams in identifying and directing the resolution of accounting, financial and business issues for K-C’s world-wide operations. Nature and Scope:This position reports to the Vice President – Corporate Controller. The incumbent must be able to: develop, interpret and maintain CFIs to ensure compliance with applicable financial accounting and reporting requirements of the FASB, the SEC or otherwise good accounting practice; and advise financial and operating management on key matters of finance, accounting and reporting, counsel senior management and assist, and work effectively with representatives of the independent registered public accounting firm Responsibilites: Ensure K-C’s accounting and disclosure practices comply with requirements of the FASB, SEC and good accounting practice. Ensure that Management’s Discussion and Analysis for quarterly and annual reporting conforms to the rules and regulations of the SEC. Instruct K-C personnel in the application and interpretation of all CFIs. Solve day-to-day accounting problems and those in new SEC and FASB rules. Aid in the maintenance of high accounting and reporting standards in K-C. Develop and maintain CFIs in an up-to-date and useful manner. Provide counsel and advice to Corporate staff, operating units, and senior management on the effects of accounting and reporting rules, regulations and issues as they relate to the Corporation or to specific business decisions. Provide leadership and counsel to appropriate project teams. Support the Corporation’s program for strong central financial control by reporting to the Vice President – Corporate Controller whenever Corporate financial policies or instructions are not being followed, or appear inappropriate, inadequate or out of date. Communicate fully with superiors, subordinates and others who have a need to know. Be informative without being obtrusive or vexatious. Communicate in a way that is timely, yet prompt; complete, yet concise; candid, yet accurate; and clear, yet responsive. Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business resultsBasic Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting7 to 10 years of experience in public accounting (preference is managerial experience with a major accounting firm), SEC reporting, accounting and business analysis. Must be able to advise financial management on all matters of finance and accounting, counsel senior management and the Audit Committee, and work effectively with representatives of the independent registered accounting firm.A background in accounting theory, practice and procedures, including SEC experience. Preferred Qulifications:CPA CertifiedMBA in Finance or AccountingOther Qulifications;Excellence in oral and written communications is imperative for presentations to the Audit Committee or Board of Directors, senior management and regulatory bodies.
