Database Administrator - West Chester, PA This position provides typical Database Administration services including maintenance to the system, collaboration on development of new applications, and writing SQL/TSQL. The DBA will be an integral team member for TNS Media Intelligence and part of the TNS Group, ranked #2 worldwide in marketing information. TNS Media Intelligence monitors 3 million brands worldwide across a multitude of media, including TV, radio, print, the Internet, cinema and outdoor. This exciting and technical career building opportunity will include but not limited to the these essential responsibilities: Ability to handle assignments and assume responsibilities at a project level Create and populate new database environments; support and troubleshoot existing databases/issues Create, revise, and maintain coded database objects including views, triggers and stored procedures Work with application developers to design relational database persistence models based on object oriented designs Work with ETL developers to design and implement efficient data feed and transform operations Assist developers in revising and recoding database objects and in evaluating the performance and efficiency of database code Script, develop, and test database jobs and / or data related batch processes Analyze and perform advanced administrative tasks to ensure the health of the database Analyze and institute safeguards to ensure stable environments Recommend and/or implement proactive monitoring mechanisms to ensure highly available, secure and optimally performing database environments Perform database tuning and configuration to enhance performance and ensure stability. Write and maintain operating systems scripts Produce and maintain appropriate database design documentation Perform advanced database design functionsRequired Skills:Bachelor’s degree including eighteen credits in computer science Advanced proficiency and at least 3 years dedicated DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Transact SQL (minimum 2 years experience with SQL Server 2005) Proficiency and at least one year dedicated DBA experience with at least one Unix based SQL product (e.g. Sybase, Oracle) Proficiency with Unix and Windows operating systemsCompetencies:Committed to service excellence and added valueProactive.
