Desktop Support Specialist - PC and Mac
Schematic, one of the nation's largest interactive client services agencies is seeking a full-time Desktop Support Specialist to join our growing Austinteam. Primary Responsibilities:
* Provide quality desktop support to internal users, including support for hardware, printing, applications, and training
* Set up and customize new or replacement computers
* Maintain the integrity of the equipment through upgrades, support, and new technology
* Assist in the development of procedures and policies that define acceptable and effective use of the desktop environment
* Document processes, procedures, and system configurations as required
* Create accounts for users and reset passwords as required
* Maintain inventory and licenses for commonly requested hardware/software
* Troubleshoot telephone and voicemail problems
* Assist in the tracking of company assets
* Keep production systems in the most reliable state possible
* Maintain systems and network security
* Perform backups of development and production data
* Apply operating system updates and configuration changes
* Maintain a healthy network
* A desire to learn new technologies, including being exposed to Systems Engineering tasks
Qualifications:
* BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience* Mac OSX experience preferred
* Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SMTP, LDAP, and SNMP protocols
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills
* Exposure to any of the following is a plus: Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and Group Policies
