Development will set strategic direction and offer deep subject matter expertise to increase the capability and capacity of the organization to deliver on business strategy. This position will demand a real passion for and focus on leadership training and development.The director partners with executive leadership and their Human Resource Leader to create appropriate and proactive organization effectiveness, organizational design, culture and change management programs and processes to improve organizational agility, support the organization’s ability to achieve successful business outcomes and drive desired behaviors.Areas of focus include:Organizational development activitiesLead design, selection and alignment of training programs that support leadership competencies.Designing, implementing and evaluating system-wide organizational development initiatives and programs that align and support the strategic efforts of the organization.Building and executing integrated plans to drive the desired SUPERVALU behaviors which engage associates and retain key talentImproving senior executive (EVP and direct reports) effectiveness and team alignmentEnabling organizational change to support business strategyBuilding organizational effectiveness capability within Human ResourcesCollaborating with director leadership succession and development to develop a strategic approach to leadership development that supports and aligns with organizational outcomes Job Requirements Education, Certification, and Relevant Experience1. Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organization Development or related field with advanced degree a plus.2. Minimum of 10-15 years combined experience in Leadership Training/Human Resource Development.3. Solid experience in designing and implementing successful leadership development initiatives and programs. 4. Proven executive level consulting skills from assessment through implementation. Comprehensive knowledge of leadership/management theory and practice, including a hsarp and strategic understanding of how leadership training can address business needs and help achieve bottom line goals.5. A highly engaging, collaborative,and consensus-building style in winning support above, across and down the organization. Experience working with the Senior executives of a large enterprise a plus. 6. Possess solid program and functional management skills, including selecting, supervising, and developing a strong professional team. Ability to set strategy while managing the details of implementation and measurement.7. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial time pressure8.
