Director, Global Strategic Marketing, New Opportunities & Emerging Markets

Position Summary:Reporting to the Head of Global Strategic Marketing (GSM) the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of a process to identify and evaluate New Opportunities for biologics which leverage an already proven pathway and can be modified to provide a significant benefit (improved efficacy, tolerability, convince, ¡K) vs. what is currently available or in development. Additionally the candidate will be responsible for providing commercial analysis which leads to strategic insight for MedImmune¡¦s pipeline products and New Opportunities in Emerging Markets. This position will work closely with the current Therapeutic Area Teams, The Technical Research Review Committee and Business Development to gain internal alignment with TAT strategies and technical assessment of new opportunities. Additionally this individual may be called upon to support other areas of GSM as needed including: market understanding, forecasting, customer understanding / insights and contribute to commercial input for programs from discovery into phase III development. This individual will achieve their strategic goals by working in a flexible matrix environment. The ideal candidate will have both a strong scientific and business background. Major Duties and Responsibilities:• Development and execution of a process to identify and evaluate New Opportunities for biologics which leverage an already proven pathway and can be modified to provide a significant benefit (improved efficacy, tolerability, convince, ¡K) vs. what is currently available or in development.• Providing commercial analysis which leads to strategic insight for MedImmune¡¦s pipeline products and New Opportunities in Emerging Markets• Responsible for gaining cross functional alignment for any recommended New Opportunities• Producing an annual strategic plan for New Opportunities ¡V aligned with the TAT strategic plans• Contribute to the development of commercial plans including strategic and tactical plans for market development for all products in clinical development to maximize the business opportunity into phase III.• Implement the New Opportunities Strategic plan which may include thought leader meetings, advocacy relations, Target Product Profile development, competitive landscape analysis, and primary and secondary market research.• As needed - support the development and dissemination of scientific information, including management of Key Opinion Leader activities, congress and association participation, and publication planning .• Oversee Selection and management of vendors as needed for New Opportunities.• Provide GSM with Competitive Intelligence related to New Opportunities.• Provide financial valuations including revenue forecasting for New Opportunities and products in development.• Provide assistance with commercial assessments, market research and financiaRequirements/Qualifications:Education: BA/BS degree plus an MBA, PhD or MD.Experience: „« Minimum of 7 to 10 years related experience required.
