Director of Parent Programs

Bates College invites applications for the position of Director of Parent Programs.  This individual will manage a comprehensive annual fundraising program for parents.  This includes all aspect of volunteer identification, enlistment, and support as well as cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of parent donors.  The Director will work in collaboration with other offices within Advancement to meet the College’s annual fund objectives.  Additionally, this position manages the Bates Parents & Family Association and helps to supervise one staff assistant.

 

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree

-Five years of progressively significant development/fund-raising or related experience

-Excellent writing and speaking skills

-A substantial record of successful collaboration with sophisticated volunteers

-Demonstrated capacity to organize and manage programs

-The ability to work independently and creatively in a collaborative, team oriented environment

-Familiarity with computer systems and the willingness to use those systems

-Strong organizational skills

-The ability and willingness to travel (road and air) up to 25-40% of the time.  A valid driver's license is required.
