ENGR SR, MARKETING APPLICATION
Description:This person is the single point of contact for the MPS business unit, supporting regional solution sales efforts. They are responsible for managing and driving the "Qualified-to-Kickoff" portion of a solutions sales cycle. Applying the Customer Centric Sales methodology and accessing the necessary resources within an Application Center to increase the ease of doing business for MPS pre-sales activities and our order hit rate. They will: help with regional market and sales strategies, assist with the evaluation process of a qualified opportunity and make bid/no bid decisions; manage the proposal process for the region (generating a portion of the proposals themselves); driving orders from proposed to close; and performing handoffs/kickoffs with the project manager once an order is accepted. All while maintaining high levels of communications with the Sales force, Business Units, and Clients. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - A complete understanding of the solution selling process; Maintaining the single MPS pre-sales point of contact for a sales region with the ability to engage Application Center domain experts as necessary- Ability to have conversations on our solutions and their benefits as it relates to our customers business goals in the manufacturing environment - Understanding of many different types of manufacturing systems and processes- Significant level understanding of the business value provided by the individual MPS Application Centers - Understanding of how our local/global competitors are positioned in the marketplace and how they market their solutions- Ability to convey district/geographical market development plans and sales focus back to the MPS business- An understanding of the proposal process, and the skills associated with proposal management and generation (i.e. writing, costing, margin, Terms & Conditions, etc.)- Measured on MPS success in a region and understanding the MPS business drivers; monitors, evaluates, and reports on Won/Lost/Abandoned, Bookings/Billings, and other pre-sales metrics for a region- Performing other "qualified to kickoff" activities such as: opportunity evaluation, project scope definition, data gathering, project handoff, and managing pre-sales domain knowledge needs from the application centersQualifications:Direct experience in selling solutions in the Automation or Information space including Process, Discrete, Batch, and MES applications.The Marketing Application Engineer will need the following skills:1) Strong presentation, communication and writing skills2) Strong understanding of a Customer Centric selling process and selling the value of solutions.3) Strong application engineering experience, including a project sales, proposal, and/or delivery background.4) Good understanding of market segmentation and industry/regional customer needs to help support the development of a targeted regional market focus planSalary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceRockwell Automation offers a competitive benefit plan.
