Enhanced Media Operator

Job Summary
Perform live on-air switching for selected channels in playback operations. Operate automation systems, video machines and video servers to ensure quality during playback.

Essential Functions
Maintains daily program logs and manipulates automation logs as needed

Assures proper on-air look for selected program channels

Monitors video and audio quality of on-air programming

Monitors outbound feeds

Quality checks assigned material needed for air

Operates multiple automation systems

Operates secondary equipment used in the on-air environment

Understands IT related operations of various platforms

Has the ability to manage a SeaChange server

Has a basic understanding of Vertigo and the ability to manipulate and publish files

Has the ability to troubleshoot and recover from on-air problems

Is willing to learn new technologies

Is able to test new and existing products in large complex environments

Is able to multi-task

Is comfortable interacting with fellow employees

Is able to take direction from others.

Is able to take and respond to constructive criticism

Excellent attendance history

Complies with all established procedures and policies of the CMC

Work any shift as scheduled to include mornings, evenings and overnights

Work any day as scheduled including holidays

Other duties and functions as assigned

Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical Requirements

Fully trained and tested on signal measurement

Trained and tested on the operation of routers, patch panels, VTRs, video servers, switchers, graphics and automation systems

Must possess an understanding of analog, digital and high definition television

Must have a basic understanding of satellite reception and transmission

Knowledge of Video on Demand architecture

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proven ability to manage time and complete projects independently

Proven dependability and flexibility with exceptional accuracy and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in broadcasting, communications or a related field

Two years experience in TV/broadcast operations or production

Possess operational knowledge of video tape, video switchers and various automation equipment

Ability to perform basic computer and server functions
