Environmental Program Manager

Gilbarco Veeder-Root, the preferred supplier of integrated fuel control, site management, and support services for petroleum marketers and commercial fuel enterprises worldwide, is looking for an Environmental Program Manager whose primary function is to evaluate, plan, and execute day-to-day operations and special projects of Compliance Management Services. This person must be able to lead a team and execute to required milestones. Must have or develop a broad knowledge of the regulatory community, its trends, and the impact these trends have on our clients and our business. This includes but is not limited to a thorough understanding of permitting requirements, release detection requirements, remote monitoring, record keeping requirements, and underground storage tank equipment standards and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify areas of risk and establish projects to fill gaps.
• Thorough planning of all project components.
• Initiate projects based on voice of the customer.
• Execution of projects on time.
• Execution of projects with highest levels of accuracy.
• A thorough understanding of regulations as they pertain to the installation and operation of an underground storage tank retail gasoline facility.
• Familiarity with automatic tank gauge, alarm monitoring, etc.
• Familiarity with forms and other environmental documentation required for the operation of an underground storage tank facility.
• Work with colleagues and client to continually develop process improvement to ensure maximum efficiency with minimum of errors or omissions.
• A through understanding of Gilbarco/Veeder-Root services, how they complement each other and what value they do or may have for a customer.
• Provide training for new employees. This includes in-depth training and auxiliary training through daily association with new employees or co-workers.
• Identify opportunities for business development.
Required Qualifications:
1. Desire to provide mentoring / leadership
2. Microsoft Excel
3. Microsoft Access
4. Database Management
5. Effective public speaking proficiency (Groups of 50 or more)
6. Contract Negotiation
7. Bachelors Degree; Masters Preferred (or equivalent experience)
Required Success Factors:
• Must possess the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Must be highly efficient and organized.
• Ability to comprehend underground storage tanks, and related site equipment (i.e. lines, dispensers, Stage I and Stage II equipments, etc.) Training is provided.
• Ability to comprehend Federal, State and Local environmental regulations as they relate to underground storage tank systems and equipment. Training is provided.
