For more than 38 years, PMI has advanced the careers of practitioners who have made project management indispensable in achieving business results.  PMI is seeking an experienced professional to be responsible for planning and delivery of Global Congresses and all other meetings, including Board of Directors and their respective committees, Research Conference, Member Advisory Group (MAG) and Project Action Teams, North American Leadership Conferences, and SeminarsWorld®.  Includes site selection, vendor oversight and logistics execution.  Develop budgets and adhere to approved fiscal parameters.

 

With multiple roles, primary responsibilities are divided among team for Global Congress – North America, Global Congress – EMEA, Global Congress – Asia/Pacific, and Global Congress – Latin America meetings, SeminarsWorld®, Board meetings, and other PMI-initiated smaller meetings.

 

Requirements:

·  Bachelors Degree.

·  Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation preferred. International planning experience desirable.

·  At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in meeting management or directly related field; multi-national experience preferred.

·  Knowledge and experience with all aspects of meeting design and management to include demonstrated success in improving the customer experience and meeting attendance.

·  Documented first hand experience in developing financial plans and tracking.

·  Ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent tasks as well as routinely prioritize among major initiatives.

·  Successful track record in negotiating services with performance metrics that benefit the host organization.

·  Strong verbal and written communications skills, including public speaking.

·  Strong relationship management skills, including demonstrated ability working with all levels of staff, global customers, volunteers, and external organizations with a track record of positive long term outcome-based relationships.

·  Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making ability.

·  Effective meeting facilitation.

·  Ability to thrive in an environment where conflicting priorities of volunteers may threaten schedule and quality.

·  Ability to use Microsoft Office products proficiently with ability to work remotely using laptop in a dynamic environment while traveling.

·  Project management experience desired.

·  Knowledge, experience, and ability to travel, domestically and internationally, including weekends and/or holidays.  Must be available to travel – 50% travel.

·  Ability to work as a team member and leader of major projects and initiatives with multi-discipline internal and external team members.
