Job Title:  Financial Analysis Project Manager

 

Primary Purpose:

Complete and interpret a variety of complex financial and/or business analyses of financial ratios, trend analyses, revenue performance and expense management.  Coordinate with other departments in the preparation of such analyses.  Bring inconsistencies and problems to the attention of management. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.  Respond to inquiries and provide thorough analysis of financial information.

2.  Prepare or interpret various reports related to complex aspects of the company’s financial performance.

3.  Prepare or review variance analysis and communicate explanations for financial statement line items.

4.  Monitor financial performance to detect unusual or significant transactions or trend development.

5.  Compile and review reports, charts and graphs of data that highlight key results.

6.  Prepare or review income/expense or cash flow forecasts and communicate results to management. 

7.  Maintain financial information via the use of simple spreadsheets to more complex databases.

8.  Assist in the development of business policies.

9.  Maintain or review documentation of business unit processes and procedures.

10.  Analyze business and accounting processes for control and efficiency improvements.

11.  Maintain a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

12.  Interpret contracts or agreements for proper accounting treatment.

13.  May provide leadership and supervision to less experienced staff.

 

Required Skills and Competencies:

1.  Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent education

2.  5+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience that includes complex financial analysis.

3.  Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as MS Office products, with an emphasis in spreadsheets, word processing, and database software

4.  Strong verbal and written communication skills

5.  Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills

6.  Demonstrated sound and logical decision making abilities

7.  Demonstrated leadership ability and skills

8.  Excellent organizational skills

9.  Excellent interpersonal skills

10.  Ability to travel, occasionally overnight

11. CPA or MBA desired
