Financial Planning & Analysis Manager
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the Finance Manager is to prepare, analyze and consolidate the World Vision International Office budget and quarterly forecasts, to be a key point person to the senior vice presidents, and assist financial analysts in supporting senior vice presidents and their respective cost centers. In addition, develop new reporting tools and help streamline processes, implement scorecard and dashboard reporting, assist in ad hoc analysis and prepare information for senior management presentations.
The Finance Manager will maintain working relationships with senior level management and become involved in operational issues. One may be required to attend regional meetings.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for the consolidation of the World Vision International Office budget
· Manage the Global Centre carry forward process and develop methods for building communication with the SVP group and streamlining the process
· Lead in the coordination of the budget, forecasts and support for the SVP team Partnership Coordination
· Develop forecasting and long term strategic planning for the WVI office
· Responsible for the development and production of reports for the Stewardship Committee and the WVI Board
· Prepare and deliver presentations and analysis for senior management and SVP as well as identify and resolve issues
· Review of month end cost center reporting to verify accuracy
· Prepare and review variance analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis
· Manage the work flow of financial analysts to ensure accuracy and timeliness
· Train and develop financial analysis on various finance and system functions as well as first line review of work
· Strong input into performance evaluation and hiring and firing decisions of financial analysts
· Assist in the implementation of new software as well as train end users
· Responsible for the Global Centre carry forward process and continuous improvement
· Responsible for managing all accounting items and to ensure data is correctly stated in various systems
· Work with financial analyst and end users to develop scorecards and dashboard reporting
· Develop method for modeling future initiatives
· Continually streamline processes and improve reporting to provide better tools and service to the finance department and SVP groups
· Develop new policies and procedures as well as writing Standard Operating Procedures
· Demonstrates a comprehensive awareness of the impact and implications of decisions and actions on other units within one’s own organization; considers interdependencies before acting
Carry out additional responsibilities and projects as assigned, including administrative and planning functions
· Attend and participate in weekly chapel services.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training.
Candidates must possess an MBA in Finance or a related field, be detail-oriented, highly analytical, and demonstrate an aptitude and desire for problem solving. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills. A minimum of five years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
Prior accounting experience and exposure to international finance will be considered a distinct advantage but is not required for this position.
