JOB REQUIREMENT PROFILE
POSITION TITLE: Ride Mechanic
DEPARTMENT/ DIVISION: Facilities Maintenance and Construction Division
POSITION REPORTS TO: Ride Mechanic Foreperson
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under occasional supervision, inspects, maintains and repairs rides and equipment as assigned. Performs related duties as required. Reports to the Ride Mechanic Foreperson.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Inspects, maintains and repairs rides and equipment as assigned.
· Lubricates rides and equipment.
· Designs and fabricates parts; rebuilds components.
· Cleans mechanical parts as needed.
· Responds to work orders and trouble calls in a timely manner.
· Maintains accurate and up-to-date maintenance records; prepares maintenance reports as required.
· Reviews technical documents, blueprints, schematics, catalogs, etc., as needed to support ride maintenance, repair and rehabilitation work.
· Works with other departments on repairs and maintenance projects as appropriate.
· Offers training and assistance to co-workers as necessary.
· Keeps supervisor informed of all maintenance problems or areas of concern.
· Assists in maintaining inventory of supplies, parts and materials.
· Maintains assigned equipment in a safe and proper working condition; maintains a clean and safe work area.
· Performs all work in accordance with department policies and procedures, regulations, plans and specifications, and standards of quality and safety.
· Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns and complaints from employees and guests regarding ride safety and maintenance.
· Attend training to maintain/develop necessary skills.
· Provides leadership and limited supervision of seasonal workers as assigned.
· Receives and reviews various records and report including inspection records, various logs, etc.
· Prepares and/or maintains inspection sheets, daily work records, downtime records, various other reports, records, log, etc.
· Refers to policies and procedure manuals, maintenance manuals, technical manuals and diagrams, ride manuals, vendor catalogs, etc.
· Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other Park supervisors and staff, co-workers, guests, vendors, contractors, inspectors, etc.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:
· Requires a vocational diploma in mechanical / industrial maintenance supplemented by three to five years of experience in mechanical maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
· Must possess a valid CA driver’s license.
· Requires forklift and man lift certifications.
· Must provide own hand tools.
· Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays to meet the business needs required.
· Ability to work the third shift during the operating season to meet the business needs required.
· Ability to work out of doors in all weather conditions required.
· Ability to climb and work at heights up to 300 ft required on catwalks, ladders, etc.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. infrequently.
· Ability to walk, crawl, stoop, kneel, bend, push, pull, and twist upper and lower body required.
· Ability to represent Great America and interact with Associates and guests in a professional manner required. LAST DATE FOR CONSIDERATION: Open Until Filled
