General Accounting Manager

A Financial Service Company located in New York has an opportunity for a General Accounting Manager who will handle the following responsibilities:

 

- Strong general accounting background including managing the closing process including month-end closing, general accruals, balance sheet reconciliations

- Strong understanding of revenue recognition for subscription based revenue as well as multiple element arrangements and software revenue recognition

- Demonstrated experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll functions a big plus

- Strong understanding of SOX compliance and ability to implement controls

- Strong emphasis on process improvement

- Demonstrated ability to do financial research using an accounting research tool

- Great Plains experience a big plus

- Strong knowledge of US GAAP

- Hands on experience with direct reports

- SFAS 128 Earnings per share calculations

- Strong knowledge of SFAS 123

- Ability to do muti entity, multi-currency consolidations

- Ability to do statement of cash flow's

 

Qualified Candidates will possess:

 

- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA a plus

- 6+ years of related experience

- Excellent PC/Microsoft Office skills

- Experience in software and database management with a professional service firm

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Proven management and leadership skills
