General Clerk I (Fresno)

Summary:
Follows a few clearly detailed procedures in performing simple repetitive tasks in the same sequence, such as filing pre-coded documents in a chronological file or operating office equipment, e.g., photocopy, addressograph or mailing machine. 


Responsibilities:
1. Receive incoming mail, including batch files from the IRS mail functions, IRS Offices, NARA, and United Parcel Service, File Material Services and other carriers and sort and route the mail the appropriate Files Activity department on a first in, first out basis.
2. Promptly return documents not intended for the Files Activity department on a first in, first out basis.

 Must be U.S. CitizenMust have high school diploma or GED   ** part-time positions for full-time high school students 18 yrs. or older availableMust be tax compliant and capable of obtaining mandatory IRS security clearance
