Global Director - Editorial Services

The Global Director will facilitate the timely, efficient production and dissemination of the News & Pricing group’s global news and market information; to be the point of contact within Editorial for all operational issues; and to be the point of outreach from Editorial to other groups within the division. The Director will establish technology priorities for the News & Pricing group and will work closely with technology to drive projects through implementation and will manage the web content group.

 

This position manages Editorial Services teams that plan, design, test and troubleshoot all editorial systems together with Technology; and implement changes to Editorial products working with Product Management.

 

The candidate should have:

·  Solid background in project management

·  Extensive experience with market data and database structures.

·  Knowledge of supervising operations in a real-time publishing environment

·  Knowledge of digital publishing

·  Six Sigma black belt a plus

·  Experience managing in a global operating environment

 

Responsibilities:

·  Work closely with senior Editorial managers on technology and operational developments

·  Manage 3rd party partners

·  Interface with other groups to coordinate strategic development plans and advocate for projects

·  Responsible for ongoing review of processes and implement best practices wherever possible

·  Evaluate technologies and potential business applications

·  Support editors engaged in real-time news and data content creation

·  Ensure high availability and suitability of systems

·  Manage web content group

·  Lead data quality program

·  Manages team of 22 staff located globally

 

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience:

·  Influence at senior management level and strategic vision and planning

·  Manage multiple projects and priorities

·  Understanding of publishing technologies and real-time environment

·  Extensive experience with market data and data content structures

·  Experience working with internal website operations

·  Experience working in an editorial or deadline-oriented environment

·  Strong negotiation and influencing skills needed to drive for results in cross-functional projects
