Job SummaryResponsible for Global Logistics Network design and strategies, supporting key core products across the Global Supply Chain. Manage activities for cold chain and temperate products related to the storage, distribution, packaging and shipping of current and future products consistent with label, quality assurance, and customer requirements. Analyze global product life cycles and align logistics capabilities to mazimize success while minimizing risk. Continually strive to improve and monitor processes to reduce and avoid in transit failures. Work with TO&PS Operating Units, QA, packaging technology, plants, distribution centers, third party vendors and packaging suppliers on cross-functional teams that address the appropriate BOH guidelines, new packaging and temperature tracking applications.Complies with all company, government and industry policies and procedures.Job ResponsibilitiesUtilize long term product forecasts to plan logistics capacity requirements including storage and transport. Make recommendations and implements, when appropriate, improvements in policies and procedures for various transportation methods and/or modes globally between plants, distribution centers, suppliers and third party vendors.Partner with carriers, all modes, to drive the best global logistics network management solutions for the movement of temperature sensitive products.Establish and maintain working relationships with key personnel in Global Supply Chain, Global Logistics, Packaging Technology, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Global Technology Transfer Teams, and Global Supply points (origins and destinations, both internal and external)Provide expertise, leadership, and training to customer service, sales, marketing, and operations regarding current and new cold chain practices and policies. Expands working knowledge by actively participating in industry organizations, by benchmarking cold chain management activities with other industries to insure that best practice are being considered for internal application, and keeping abreast of industry practices and initiatives.Monitor the performance of the logistics process of products across nodes throughout the global supply chain.Create and maintain global logistics process maps that represent the logistics requirements for products between nodes in the global supply chain. Implement develop, and report cost and performance metrics and monitors performance of carriers, distribution centers, plants and third party vendors and protective packaging. Manages deviation and incident reporting tracking and correction including the total cost of non-conformance and develops continuous improvement strategies. Provides feedback to Global Logistics Operations regarding carrier performance.Develop, implement and maintain standards of care and job aides for packing and shipping current and new products requiring temperature protective packaging.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Package Technology.Hardware/software application literacy, project management and communication skills, regulatory, strategic planning and data reporting analysis.5 – 7 years of Pharmaceutical and/or high volume Consumer Goods industry experience. 3-5 years of experience within cold chain logistics. 1-2 years of previous supervisory experience required. This position requires demonstrated effective communication with a variety of internal and external partners as well as senior management.Relocation is not available for this position.
