Work Location/Schedule:

Anchorage company seeking Health/Safety/Environmental Technical Specialist to work 12 hours a day, 2 weeks on 2 weeks off on the North Slope. 

 

Daily:

- Collect previous day injury and vehicle incident reports from Safety Engineer and confirm reports have been entered, contact originators as needed.

- Confirm all injury & vehicle incidents have been classified per Safety Engineer guidance.

- Log injury reports into injury/illness log and corresponding current year binders.

- Produce previous day summary and review with Safety Engineer for accuracy.

- Review previous day incident reports accuracy w/Safety Engineer - contact originator for required corrections.

- Serve as the NS Support Analyst

- Generate ad hoc reports as required utilizing (WebIntelligence/BusinessObjectives)

- Provide/deliver NS user software training as determined.

- Assist Safety Team with NS assurance and assessment activities

- Function as NS Safety spoc for external audit groups as required

- Oversee the tracking of formal incident investigations to ensure prescribed process requirements are being met in a timely manner.

- Develop draft HSE daily report and send to Safety Engineer for review and distribution

- Maintain framework electronically

- Serve as a member of the Incident Management Team

 

Weekly:

- Generate incident summary reports and distribute as required to include schedule, meeting report, action items, minutes etc.

- Review previous week’s IR’s to ensure company lessons learned requirements have been met, contact originators and track to completion.

- Provide incident trends/stats for contractor safety meeting

- Serve as TA for the database, provide training as needed

- Work with PSM Coordinators to maintain integrity of the HSE website

 

Monthly:

- Provide ownership and oversight of the field management leadership team meeting

- Maintain over site of Safety department pro-card and provide interface

- Monitor generated action items for timely closure-generate reports and contact responsible  parties as needed

- Generate and distribute controlled documents (revised/new)

- Provide over site of required monthly HSE inspections and walkthroughs

- Provide oversight of the NS Safety Team O&M budget preparation, spend and tracking.



 

The Technical Specialist should have the following requirements, skill set and experience:

 High school diploma Post secondary education preferred6+ years of relevant experienceExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenDemonstrated organizational skills and motivationProficiency using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS exchange, Visio and Access) preferably at an intermediate or advanced level.Quickly become proficient using a web-based incident recordkeeping and action tracking systemWillingness to handle a wide variety of responsibilities and take the imitative to manage tasks independently.High level of tact and integrity due exposure to confidential data.Previous North Slope experience a plus

 Physical Demands:

 

The employee is regularly required to use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time, to walk and occasionally sit. The employee must regularly lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. The noise level is usually quiet. Weather can be extremely cold and windy, varies.
