HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

People Resources, Inc., a leading Tampa based recruitment firm is seeking a Human Resource Generalist for a well established, high growth service provider located in Pinellas County.

 

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The HR Generalist will be an integral part of the HR team and will perform a variety of professional and administrative tasks in Human Resources areas.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Facilitate, advertise, and plan logistics for HR initiatives.  Provide analysis following each training session based on participation feedback.  Maintain the Training database.

· Serve as point of contact for employees to ensure employee understanding of health and welfare programs, assist in resolving employee complaints related to health and welfare plans and keep corporate advised of potential problem areas and recommend and assist with implementing solutions as appropriate. 

· Assist with managing worker’s compensation claims and instilling a safety culture.

· Interpret, formulate, recommend and update applicable Human Resources policies and processes as needed. 

· Manage data processing including accurately maintaining HRIS database, Tuition Reimbursements, Employee Referrals, EEO Reporting, and updating employee transactions. 

· Assist with the recruitment process including, but not limited to, post employment opportunities, update job descriptions and interview questions, conduct interviews, background checks, coordinate relocations and conduct new employee orientations. 

· Lead New Hire Orientation process to ensure new hire understands company policies and benefits and is made to feel welcome; administer new hire paperwork, and complete both 3 and 6 month review meetings with the new hire. 

· Assists in guiding employees and managers in addressing employee relations issues.

· Manage special projects as assigned. 

 

REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and three years progressive experience in human resources required.

· PHR certification strongly desired.

· Knowledge of state and federal employment laws to include:  EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.

· Strong HRIS skills and report writing skills required.  Excellent computer skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.

· Technical knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and best practices for employee relations, compensation, benefits and staffing required.
