HVAC Route Technician - College Station, TX

FUNCTION

 

Operate, maintain and perform repairs on assigned building mechanical equipment and controls, chilled water systems, boilers, variable volume air systems, DDC controls, refrigeration equipment and various other mechanical, electrical and building systems in such manner as to ensure optimal customer relations.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Responds in a professional, polite and helpful manner when dealing with customers.

 

Assumes responsibility for the safe maintenance, operation and adjustments of mechanical/plumbing systems.

 

Maintains a familiarity with other trades such as carpentry, painting and electrical systems.

 

Works effectively with other contractors such as refrigeration, control maintenance, water treatment and renovation contractors.

 

Performs other tasks as instructed including, but not limited to, painting, furniture moving, plumbing, cleaning and assisting other trades as necessary.

 

Works with and takes direction from the Facility Manager.

 

Thoroughly and accurately completes paperwork and prepares reports.

 

Assists in emergencies as needed including emergency calls at non-scheduled hours.

 

Works according to the schedule prepared by the Facility Manager.

 

Returns all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly and safe condition.

 

Learns, understands and complies with fire, safety and other emergency practices. Informs supervisor of any condition observed to be unsafe.

 

Learns, understands and complies with all Company and customer policies.

 

Participates in training directed at increasing job-related skills.

 

Assists in training of other employees as assigned by the Facility Manager.

 

Works overtime as needed.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

High school or technical school graduate.

Strong experience with commercial HVAC equipment and systems.

Knowledge of the equipment, tools and materials used in building maintenance.

General maintenance skills in plumbing, electrical and  carpentry.

Excellent troubleshooting skills.

2 years Facility Maintenance experience.

3 years A/C troubleshooting experience.

ETAZ background.

Strong leadership skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to act as a lead worker.

Knowledge of methods, practices and techniques of maintaining a Class A building and facility system.

Ability to keep simple records of activities performed and complete basic reports.

Ability to read and understand schematics and other technical documentation.

Ability to maintain good working relations with other staff and building tenants.

Universal Tech Certification.

608 Certification.

HVAC Certification.

Possesses required state and local licenses.

Availability to work shifts and overtime as needed.

 

Compensation:

$47,000 - $52,000
