Hardware/Electrical Engineer

Job Description:M-Audio is a leading provider of creative tools for computer-centric musicians and audio professionals, headquartered in Irwindale, CA we are part of the Audio Division within Avid Technology.Responsibiliteswill include: Interact with Product Marketing team in determining functional specifications. Design and capture schematics of analog/digital mixed-signal audio products. Work with PCB layout engineers to implement PCB designs. Execute verification testing of prototypes and production samples. Design and support testing for regulatory compliance (FCC, CE, etc). Solve problems during all phases, and support technical meetings and reviews. Occasional foreign travel to support project development and manufacturing.Candidates for this position should meet the following minimum requirements: BS, BEE, BSEE, or equivalent experience. 5+ years experience in design and development of digital and analog audio electronics in a volume production environment. Experience designing analog circuits including audio converters, opamp-based filters and amplifiers, and other analog circuits and systems. Firmware and system design for microprocessor based systems, especially ARM and 8051, in both C and assembly language. Low-noise design and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency with schematic capture software. A hands-on approach to developing products. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse international product team.The following experience and specialized skills are highly-desired: MSEE or equivalent experience. A strong interest in Music and Audio. Experience with USB 1.1 and 2.0, IEEE 1394b, and/or PCI/PCIe. Some RF circuit design and test experience. Experience with DSP algorithms, firmware, and system design. FPGA design experience in VHDL or Verilog.
