Health and Safety Officer

Health and Safety Officer       for an environmental cleanup company- Conducts:            - safety training,       - safety inspections,       - ergonomic evaluations,        - accident/incident and lab safety inspections,       - record keeping/tracking,        - radiological waste management- Responds to concerns and emergencies - Reports to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager and works with the Institution's various departments in developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs- Evaluates and implements exposure controlsDesired Education/Experience - - BS in Science or Engineering preferred- 3 years minimum of related experience in an academic or research organization preferred- Ability to work effectively with a team and independently with minimum supervision- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills- Familiarity with computer, computer databases, and on-lining training systems preferred- Able to lift, move, and handle materials weighing up to 45 lbs
