Human Resources Representative (Grand Junction,CO)
Wagner Equipment Co., the Caterpillar Dealership in Colorado, has an excellent career opportunity for a Human Resources Representative for the Western Slope of Colorado; Branch and office located in Grand Junction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the timely and effective recruiting and staffing of positions in this area. Minimum 3 years experience in a human resources position with emphasis on recruiting, staffing and legal compliance. Bachelor’s Degree in broad based curriculum emphasizing human resources. The Western region is the area defined as Grand Junction, Durango, Hayden and the Wagner Rents mountain stores. Specific Responsibilities:
· Works with Western Slope management to develop recruiting strategy.
· Evaluates recruiting results to determine most effective use of resources.
· Screens qualified candidates for positions on the Western Slope.
· Visits high schools and participates in career fairs in the area to promote interest in the company and apprentice opportunities.Assures company benefits and policies are effectively communicated.
· Assists in the implementation of company policies and procedures.
· Supports Company related activities and events.
· Assists in the maintenance of the company’s Affirmative Action Plan. Assures that all interview and screening practices are consistent with civil rights laws and supportive of the company’s non-discrimination policies.
· Conducts new employee orientations.
· Conducts facilities tours with student groups to promote the company’s career opportunities.
· Collects market data on a variety of employment subjects and wages.
· Assists in the analysis of the company’s turnover data for the region.
· Assists with other legal compliance in the areas of FLMA, ADA and EEOC.
· Supporting company management in resolving issues to enhance employee relations.
· Performs other related duties as directed.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in broad based curriculum emphasizing human resources; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in a human resources position with emphasis on recruiting, staffing and legal compliance.
Additional Skill Requirements: Establish highly effective working relationships with all levels of management and other HR members. Ability to change priorities and remain productive in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations. This position requires a working knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws. Requires strong PC skills including experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
