Human Resources Technician

We currently have an opening for a Human Resource Technician.This position provides HR support to Human Resource Representatives and Managers in the areas of Recruitment & Staffing, Compensation, Personnel Records, Employee Relations, etc. The incumbent will consult and collaborate with other HR employees to ensure consistent application of practices and policies. In addition, this role will be responsible for taking the lead and facilitating one or more HR programs (such as Service Awards, College Intern Program, New Grad Programs, Background Check, Visa & Immigration processing, etc.), will interface with internal client base managers & employees at all levels, be a liaison with external vendors, and may represent HR in cross functional teams. Responsibilities will include:Providing support to the client groups in the areas of recruitment requisitions, maintaining job files, arranging interviews, organizing background and pre employment physicals and preparing the new hire orientation documentation.Provide admin support to international HR Dept, including preparation of offer letters, certificates of coverage, responding to requests from immigration attorneys, initiating relocation worksheets and working with external vendor and Solars Compensation and Payroll Depts to prepare payroll for international service employeesTimely and accurate input of data into PeoplesoftManage specific vendor accounts associated with overseas assignmentsParticipation in 6 Sigma teams and projectsResponding to general and routine requests from employeesSolar Turbines offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, vacation, 401k, pension, incentive bonus, tuition reimbursement and more. Must be flexible and comfortable working in an environment that has multiple conflicting priorities, and daily interface with employees/managers at all levels. Must have strong computer and organizations skills together with demonstrated ability to produce quality, accurate, and timely work. Knowledge of basic HR principles and procedures, applicable state and federal regulations and laws will be required to learn.
Ideal Candidate will have 3-5 years work experience, ideally within an HR environment. Experience in PeopleSoft is highly desired, but training will be given.
