Job Description:WEB APPLICATION DEVELOPERParsons has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Web Application Developer to provide application development support for a challenging environmental/engineering project in the Las Vegas offices of a large client.POSITION OVERVIEW: Under general supervision, works on programming-related projects and tasks associated with a large environmental / engineering project. Analyzes business needs and develops system solutions and web-based applications with potential for software integration between web-based applications and various GIS products (especially ESRI products such as ArcGIS & ArcSDE). REQUIRED SKILLSExperience developing web-based applications using HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript and, ColdFusion (7.02). Solid understanding of application programming and application design, including coding, testing, maintenance, debugging and documentation. Experience with relational databases and database design (Oracle 8i/9i, SQL Server or MySQL) including design, creation and maintenance of database objects – tables, views, packages, functions, procedures, indexes, sequences and triggers. Additional programming experience in other web-based technologies (e.g. VB.NET, Flash, Flex, ArcIMS, etc). Self-starter capable of working effectively with little supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Strong business analysis skills and attention to detail. Ability to develop strong customer relationships and manage customer expectations. DESIRED SKILLS, NOT REQUIREDExperience with UML and the design cycleDevelopment using design patterns, (MVC or Fusebox)Project experience spanning the entire life cycle of a product Understanding of spatial concepts related to GIS applicationsAccess database programming experience QUALIFICATIONS: 4-year degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a closely related field; and 3 years of progressively responsible experience in systems analysis and application design and development; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
