Location Carlsbad CAJob Responsibilities OverviewEnsures that international business activities are conducted in full compliance with all relevant ViaSat and U.S. government regulatory requirements. This must be accomplished concurrent with providing the highest level of customer service to our internal and external customers, and in a manner that ensures the steady and expeditious flow of our products. We are seeking a dynamic candidate, who can think “outside the box” by developing, implementing and maintaining a compliant “common sense” import/export program with a real “team approach” and the ability to deliver timely compliant solutions to import/export issues.Job DescriptionCandidate will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of procedures and provide training to staff at all levels to ensure import/export activities comply with the U.S. Bureau of Export Administrations.These responsibilities will include but are not limited to, export license determination, administration, and licensing under the EAR, ENC One Time Reviews, ENC reporting, Wassenaar reporting, tariff classifications, ECCN commodity classification reviews and requests, export documentation, import documentation, SED’s submitted through AES, Nafta and other free trade agreements, duty drawback. Carnets a plus. Successful candidate will be a team player, possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work at all levels both inside and outside the organization. Ability to collaborate and prioritize issues and actions to achieve business objectives, serve the customer and meet compliance requirements. Experience/Skills Required RequirementsOutstanding communication, training, auditing, and issue-resolution skills are required. Must also be proficient in Microsoft Office (WORD, Excel, and PowerPoint), as well as a good working knowledge of Windows, knowledge of Oracle is a plus. Extensive knowledge of EAR, ENC One time reviews/reporting, and NAFTA are required. Education/ExperienceCollege degree and 5-7 years working experience in an international business environment having performed at a senior representative level. Extensive experience in EAR regulations, commercial invoicing required. Proven ability to develop and implement a compliant import/export program a must.
