Industrial Engineering Manager

Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to lead all process engineering activities and establish a process improvement discipline in support of warehouse operations, inventory control and the broader supply chain function. The incumbent acts as a the leader of technical staff resources that are assigned to high priority re-engineering and improvement initiatives assigned by senior level operations as well as local DCs.

Job Responsibilities:First develop, then staff and finally manage the industrial Engineering discipline. Provide direction and guidance to engineering staff, set priorities, define deliverables and standards for staff performance.Focuses on managerial concerns of the projects such as cost, completion date, and resource allocation. Provides expert resolution of issues and monitors integration of work.Maintain ownership for DC level standards and methods associated with all production work at all DCs as part of Red Prairie workforce management system. Initially, lead all data gathering efforts at the floor level as well as the direct relationship with PE contacts at Red Prairie on an ongoing basis.Receive senior level assigned initiatives, further develop the thinking, create the work plan and then execute and lead implementation efforts in the field, e.g. work the white spaces between the various supply chain functions to find and implement optimized cost – service – quality –safety solutions. Example – plastic pallets.Develop resource and project plans for WMS start-ups (infrastructure) and actively manage projects & monitor milestone accomplishments. Collaborate with functional heads to develop start-up budgets and contingency plans to ensure successful project completion. Coordinate projects from cost, resource allocation, and completion date perspectives.Determine impact of new customer requirements/enhancements on existing operational cost structure, and make recommendations for optimal approach, and assist in developing execution plans.Identify, introduce and own the roll out of standard process improvement approach C&S Operations will use such as 5 S’s, Lean or Six Sigma. Be seen as the expert and leader of the experts owning how C&S attacks and fixes broken processes. This improvement process will be the key underpinning of future operational cost take out requirements.Act as functional leader for DC slotters due to the significant impact on standards, refinement of standards, quality and cost. One direct report for slotting will be added who will provide indirect support via common approach and study to all DC level slotters.

Job Requirements:Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or Logistics.Minimum of 7 -9 years in Engineering, Analytics and Operations function.Demonstrated accomplishment in Strategic rationalization of distribution network footprint, automation concepts relating to eliminating manual tasks, experience with transportation operation concepts.Statistical process control mastery & warehouse operations optimizationMS Office Suite, Visio, data manipulation & acquisition skills, LogicTools, i2 SCS, CAPS Logistics toolkit or equivalent
