Infrastructure Analyst

o Build PCs based on standard Tier 1 and Tier 2 scripts.o Deploy and install workstations for end users.o Troubleshoot, fix, track, and, when necessary, escalate customer requests.o Monitor the IT customer queue at all times and seek assistance on prioritization when necessary.o Configure workstations for users when changes occur such as new printers or software upgrades.o Install software and follow software license compliance policies and procedures.o Implement Port Arthur IT best practices, policies, and processes.o Provide assistance in the implementation of system upgrades and projects.o Provide assistance to other Port Arthur IT team members when needed.o Be a backup for the Lead Workstation Technician role.
Work Experience & Skills Required:This position requires minimal workstation technician experience with workstation and software applications in a business environment. Should possess strong knowledge of the following: o Windows environments (NT/W2K), Microsoft client side networking, and MS Office Suiteo Skillset to build, install, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows based PC’s in a networked environmento Ability to independently develop and maintain good customer relations, communication, and strong teamwork skillso Ability and desire to take ownership; seeing tasks and assignments through to completion of customers' satisfactiono Ensure installed software is in compliance with appropriate licenseso Good prioritization and organizational skills; able to work on multiple priorities while balancing overall responsibilitieso Manage time and resources effectively; strong ability to multi-task while maintaining focus on changing prioritieso Participation on project teams (e.g., Application and hardware upgrades/deployments)o Strong intrapersonal, interpersonal, logical/analytical and troubleshooting skillso Strong written and verbal communication skillsWork Experience & Skills Preferred:2+ years of workstation technician experience in a business environment with strong knowledge of the following: o ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity)o Terminal/Citrix Serverso Networking fundamentalso Experience in implementing or managing small desktop related projectso Maintain an understanding of new and upcoming desktop related technologieso Database knowledge (SQL, Sybase, Oracle)o Handheld devicesEducation Required: High School Diploma or equivalentEducation Preferred:o Associates degree in CS/CIS related field, or equivalent work experience preferredPhysical Demands or Unusual Working Conditions:Lifting of IT equipment such as workstations, monitors and/or printers
