JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Intensive In-Home Therapist

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Respective Team Leader

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

            Manage a small case load of clients (approximately 5), providing intensive in home services to include clinical interventions and case management Prepare a written diagnostic assessment, monthly progress reports, and a discharge summary          Prepare and follow a professional treatment plan      Provide direct clinical services to clients, including individual and families          Responds to crisis situations with twenty-four hour a day availability          Prepares progress reports for clinical and billing purposes          Participate in Individualized Educational Plan, Family Assessment and Planning Team, and other interdisciplinary, diagnostic, or planning meetings          Collaborate and coordinate with other case involved service providers and professionals, such as attorneys, school personnel, social workers, and probation counselors            Attend court hearings when families are court-involved and presents testimony and treatment recommendations as requested by attorneys, referral source, the court, or clients             Work with Team Leader to increase effectiveness of therapeutic interventions         Attend weekly staff meeting and training

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

Hold a Masters degree in or seeking a Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related human services field from an accredited college or university; two years of experience providing mental health treatment to troubled children and families. The person should meet the qualifications of a Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP) as defined by the Office of Licensure. 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

Knowledge of principles and techniques of child and family counseling; knowledge of  basic interviewing and assessment skills; working knowledge of DSM-IV disorders; skill in effectively interact with children who experience behavioral and emotional problems; ability to maintain working relationships with other services providers; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, ability to learn and grow as a professional.
