Thank you for your interest!Major Position Responsibilities:This individual will provide leadership and oversight of the technical architecture, development and deployment of high-availability, clustered J2EE application environment. Primary responsibility is to insure that the system solution accurately implements the customer’s business requirements. The Lead Architecture participates in the leadership and facilitation of Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with customers.The candidate will advise the business and development staff of technology uses to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Provide technical analysis and solutions to business issues, provide consultation, research and implement technical alternatives, and maintain awareness of business technology strategies and the technical infrastructure to meet business requirementsAdditional responsibilities include: Works with Application and Integration Architects to ensure all integration points requirements and standards are defined and met Works with all functional teams to help design all customizations in compliance with existing product architecture and design Provides architectural expertise to the development team for the design, development, and implementation the Enterprise platform. Provide direct guidance in planning, designing, programming, documentation and implementation of the systems. Perform reviews of new and existing systems to ensure operational integrity and accomplishment of stated objectives Control project risks and impact on business and strategic plans. overseeing the creation and evolution of architecture deliverables, including services, frameworks, templates, taxonomies, tools, standards, guidelines and best practices, that support the delivery of I/T solutions, Qualifications Candidates must have the ability to execute in a fast paced team environment, the ability to capture complex business concepts and implement clean, reusable design; and a minimum of 5-10 years of J2EE experience. Must have expert knowledge and experience with architecting and designingJ2EE applications using IBM Websphere Application Server in a large enterprise environment Expert knowledge of Websphere 6.0, Java and OO tools and techniques Must have expert knowledge and experience with design patterns, service-oriented architecture, solution frameworks, technical patterns and technical services. Development experience including strong JSP, Servlet and EJB hands on development experience with some portal development experience in IBM WebSphere Portal Server Understanding of Portal 6.0.Themes and Skins, JSR 168 and experience with Java Server Faces (JSF). Experience with Eclipse, Struts, JSP, JavaScript, JDBC, HTML, AJAX, EJB, Messaging, Web Services, XML, and SQL Must also have strong soft skills. They will be required to lead meetings, initiate discussions on topics, and be able to speak to both the technical and business units Strong knowledge in Data Services Layer (Hibernate, JDBC), strong SQL and database experience, and strong knowledge of frameworks and design patterns (STRUTS, DAO, SOA, Factory, Delegate) is required Strong leadership skills combined with the ability to take appropriate risks Demonstrated ability to apply multiple technologies to business situations and identify and apply productivity improvements, blending the technical environment with strategic direction Some travel is required Preferred: Ideal candidates will have prior health-care, insurance and/or Medicaid related experience. Experience with the Rational products suites is a plus.
