The Web Portal Developer provides technical expertise in development of web based applications using J2EE technologies. This technical resource is responsible for the development of web portal components of complex J2EE application for a large web application hosted on a UNIX platform. This position requires that the candidate must be able perform analysis, work interactively with teammates and customers.Position Requirements (What skills and experience must they have?): Required:·Should have prior hands-on experience developing web based applications using J2EE standards (JSP, JSF).· Should have prior hands-on experience using development tools (e.g. Rational, Eclipse) · Should have strong object-oriented development skills. · Should be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.· Should have strong verbal and written communication skills.· Travel up to 25% should be expected.· Should have a “can do” attitude.Preferred:· Ideal candidates will have prior health-care, insurance and/or Medicaid related experience· Prior product development experience.· Prior experience on IBM Websphere Portal Server and Application Server.· Prior experience using Rational Development tools.· Prior experience using an object oriented development methodology (e.g. RUP, Agile).Education and Typical Years ExperienceShould possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other technical related field.
