Laboratory Technician

Job Purpose:

 

Perform essential laboratory analysis procedures and maintain production quality assurance in a food-processing environment. 

 

Duties:

 

·  Perform all essential microbiological and chemical testing.

·  Performing testing procedures through written SOP’s

·  Execute testing within the areas of plate count analysis, specialized assays, mycotoxins and chemical titrations.

·  Assurance of accurate written records and interpretation of laboratory results.

·  Sampling of product in production lines.

·  Environmental Monitoring of production and non production lines.

 

 

Skills/Qualifications:

 

·  Bachelor’s degree in science or related field. Including but not limited to chemistry, biology, nutritional sciences, and or environmental sciences). Entry level position. Experience or supervisor of staff preferred.


·  Capable of performing a root causes analysis.

·  Can effectively communicate results within different departments.

·  Basic Math Skills for media formulation

·  Good attendance.

·  Contribute to develop new programs and or process

·  Aid in developing and maintaining SOP’s policies and forms.
