Landfill Gas Collection Specialist

Job Description:I. Job SummaryThis position reports to the Gas Operations Manager and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the landfill gas system. Location/Areas of Responsibility: This position will support the North Florida and Central Florida Market Areas. Position may reside in Jacksonville, Tampa or other centrally located area. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by department. · Properly operate and maintain gas collection system on a timely and cost effective basis in order to achieve minimum performance standardso Software PLC Programming - Flare Station · Preventative Maintenance Program · Interface with LFG Energy Developer – Reports· Development of Capital Expenditure for LFG Management SystemsDevelopment of Operational BudgetOversee LFGMS Market Area Input and data quality control· Oversee operations of Level I and II Gas Techs· Safety Oversight and AdministrationOversee non-routine system repairs and team leader§ Optimize landfill gas collection efficiencyIII. Supervisory Responsibilities· Oversee operations of Level I and II Gas Techs.IV. QualificationsThe requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. A. Education and ExperienceRequired: High School Diploma or equivalent, driver’s license, landfill gas field experiencePreferred: Heavy equipment operationB. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other RequirementsPE pipe fusion certification, 40-hr Hazwoper certification.C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required· 5 Years or greater of landfill gas or related field experience· Ability to Integrate wellfield data to enhance the construction and operation of a landfill gas management system.· Ability to operate wellfield collection systems with third party energy developers· Responsible for the oversight of multiple gas collection systems · Advanced computer skills· Provide budgetary and project management support to MA GOM for the design and installation of landfill gas management systems· Develop work plans and day-to-day direction Level II and I gas technicians.· Advanced understanding of Environmental Regulations which affect the operations and compliance of landfill gas management systems · Flare vendor training course· Pass Landfill Gas Tech III Certification TrainingV.
