Librarian

Applied Research Associates, Inc. is seeking a candidate with a Master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited library school.  Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years experience with proficiency searching STN, DIALOG, and DTIC/STINET. The librarian will work independently to provide full-service library support for the daily information needs of microbiologists, chemists, materials scientists, civil, mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineers, as well as robotics and fire research technologists. Candidate must have 3-5 years experience in a library that serves engineers or scientists, a working knowledge of sources for S & E literature, standards, test methods, and patents, and be familiar with military terminology and military publications.  Candidate should also have knowledge and experience with on-line searching of scientific literature data bases including DTIC and knowledge and experience with inter-library loan processing, acquisitions, circulation management, and library cataloging. .Candidate should have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office & Library Information System applications; with a working knowledge of web site/web page design and development desirable. Web page design is a desired skill.
