Mainframe Database Engineer

K-C’s IT organization is seeking a Mainframe Database Engineer.Summary: K-C’s IT solution provides services to over 300 sites globally from the corporate datacenters located in Wisconsin. The mainframe environment consists of multiple IBM mainframes utilizing DB2 to provide a highly available platform for hosting K-C’s in-house developed and SAP applications. Responsibilities:This position is responsible for overseeing and providing direction for the mainframe database environment and includes the following: Design database solutions that follow KC technology standards and meet the needs of the business. Performs industry research for data and database technologies and related software, tools, standards and training. Creates and implements data and database administration procedures, standards, guidelines, tools, services and training. Performs analysis and directs problem resolution related to data and databases. Ensure data integrity and a highly available database. Coach team members and K-C’s outsourced delivery partners.Basic Qualifications:A Bachelors degree along with 10 or more years relevant experience or more than 12 years of applied IT experience. DB2 database administrator experience required in a medium tolarge-scale Z/OS production environment. Preferred Qualifications:Experience in physical database design and implementation of databases in z/OS DB2.Expertise in z/OS DB2 database specific application tuning. Advanced problem resolution skills on the z/OS DB2 platform.Previous experience in the planning and installation of new z/OS DB2 releases.Good knowledge of DB2 on z/OS as it pertains to SAP.Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor other team members.Other: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Professional presence and business diplomacy skillsVisit our website and apply online today!: .
