Mainframe HW/SW Administrator

K-C’s IT organization is seeking a Mainframe Software and Hardware Administrator.Summary: K-C’s IT solution provides services to over 300 sites globally from the corporate datacenters located in Wisconsin. The mainframe environment consists of multiple IBM mainframes and EMC storage providing a highly available platform for K-C’s in-house developed and SAP applications. Responsibilities:This position is responsible for the lifecycle management of mainframe software and hardware assets and includes the following: Manage software and hardware assets from the point that they are procured through end of life. Monitor mainframe software and hardware assets (owned or leased) to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. Provide advance notification to various teams to manage the process for license renewals and lease end notices. Make recommendations for renewals based on the disposition of the assets involved. Includes consideration for technology upgrades and capacity planning requirements. Work with procurement individuals to ensure the timely creation of Purchase Orders to meet renewal timelines. Coach team members and K-C’s outsourced delivery partnersBasic Qualifications: A Bachelors degree along with 7 or more years relevant experience or more than 9 years of applied IT experience. Previous exposure in vendor management. Prior experience working in a medium to large-scale Z/OS production environment. Preferred Qualifications: Previous accounting, purchasing and/or lease experience. Ability to manage a technical inventory with an understanding of the technology asset life cycle. Knowledge of mainframe software licensing procedures and software purchasing and contracts preferred. Experience working with software and hardware procurement from mainframe vendors such as IBM, EMC, CA, etc. is desired. Other: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrated project leadership and knowledge of project methodologies is a plus.
