Job Title: Maintenance Painter

 

Job Summary:

 

Candidate will be responsible for painting, and redecorating walls, woodwork and fixtures of an establishment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Work will involve the following: surface peculiarities and specific preparation for various types of paint required for different applications including, metal, wood, concrete, sheetrock and epoxy-based coatings; preparing surface for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes and interstices and applying paint with spray gun or brush. May mix colors, oils and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency.

 

May perform work in other classifications when incidental work is necessary to the accomplishment of the work assignment.  Significant work in another job classification may be required if accompanied by any wage adjustments applicable.

 

Qualifications:

 

Must have 4 years experience in the painting trade and thorough knowledge of paints, thinners, and lacquers.  Must be able to work at heights and have good color perception. Must have and maintain hand tools of the trade to perform the normal work of the classifications. Must obtain and maintain required explosives certifications when assigned to ordnance operations.  Must possess and maintain valid Washington State driver's license.  Must meet and maintain company physical and security requirements, including respirator qualification, and clearance eligibility when required. Candidates for positions working in a dispensary or hospital assignment must prove immunity to tetanus, measles, Rubella (a.k.a. German Measles or Three Day Measles) and mumps by providing, prior to assignment, physician signed documentation of either immunization (vaccine) or antibody titer (blood test), and evidence of TB (tuberculosis) test within the past year.  Must be able to lift 55lbs.  Must possess good communication skills for a service team environment.
