General Description: The incumbent will be responsible for managing the individuals in the Infrastructure Applications group; providing leadership, vision and direction in order to support the company's business objectives; Interface with Global IT Directors and Managers on the strategic direction of the applications supported by the group; direct the Infrastructure Application group in the design and planning of all aspects of information systems within the groups responsibility; provide tactical information technology advice to staff and examine the ramifications of new and existing technologies; propose strategic initiatives to senior IT management; submit budgetary requests, set performance standards, conduct employee performance appraisals and has hiring, firing, and disciplinary responsibility. The Infrastructure Applications group is responsible for the applications and general technologies which support Infrastructure and Operations area such as Magic, Monitoring, Database Center of Excellence, IBM MQ, and ControlM.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or appropriate technical/functional discipline and 11 years functional or technical management experience in a leadership position.Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science or appropriate technical/functional discipline and more than 11 years functional or technical management experience in a leadership position.Position Success Factors: Customer Focus; Business Acumen; Communication; Teamwork; Results Ownership; Providing Direction; Coaching and Development; Performance Assessment and Improvement.Our generous benefits package includes the Alcon 401(k) Plan which matches employee contributions up to 5% of eligible pay at the rate of $1.00 for each dollar contributed, and the Alcon Retirement Plan (ARP), a qualified plan in which Alcon contributes 7% of eligible pay to the accounts of all eligible employees.
