For more information about PolyOne visit www.polyone.com Quality Manager for the Engineered Materials facilities (Avon Lake and Macedonia):GENERAL SUMMARY: The Quality Manager has multiple plant responsibility and will manage the overall quality systems, process engineering, and product testing. The successful candidate will manage and be responsible for Quality and/or Process Engineer(s), Process Specialists and Co-Operative Students. This position manages business-wide quality systems, Statistical Process Control (SPC) / Statistical Quality Control (SQC), process improvements, improvement tools such as FMEA and Measurement System Analysis, process and customer specifications and plant ISO certification. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Ensures that process conditions are monitored and controlled for product consistency and in compliance with overall product manufacturing specifications.- Ensures that all process and product information for existing and new products is effectively and efficiently transferred from R&D to manufacturing.- Ensures the manufacturing-related processes are in control and that all products produced at the facility meet the requirements of the end-use customer.- Ensures that a sound quality management system is implemented. - Ensures that all testing is carried out in accordance with PolyOne Lab Performance Policy and that all product grading is accomplished in a timely and accurate manner. - Represents the plant and PolyOne in all aspects of professional dealings with customers, the technology community and the commercial group. Resolves and communicates on customer complaints, and handles technical and quality questions from internal and external sources.- Coordinates investigation of, and corrective actions for all plant-related customer complaints. - Develops continuous improvement process to reduce internal and external quality issues. - Assesses training needs and provides training to lab/production employees. - Primary point of contact form manufacturing standpoint for customer and commercial team.- Responsible for maintaining and improving a quality system that ensures that all products meet quality expectations.- Provides presentations on quality information to plant employees, Business Team members, and customers.Required Education: - Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science or Engineering, Quality, Quality Engineering, or closely related field.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Knowledge of plant's manufacturing systems and processes. - Knowledge of statistical analysis - Computer skills: Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet applications required (MS Office preferred). - Strong organizational & problem-solving skills required. - Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Required Length & Type of Experience: - At least five years of responsibility for quality/process engineering/lab in a manufacturing environment, including prior supervisory responsibility.
