Manufacturing Production Supervisor

Position:  Manufacturing Supervisor – Nicholasville, KY Plant 

Objective:

This position requires an excellent leader able to manage multiple production departments by utilizing Lean Manufacturing Techniques and working with the support departments to achieve the plant goals.

Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):

Supervising the production department(s) which includes assigning work, encouraging team involvement, completing the performance management process for all operators, scheduling work, ensuring needed equipment is maintained and purchased, and developing and following the department's budget.

Coaches operators through the problem solving process to identify problem areas and solve them. Some of these areas include manufacturing processes, reducing set-up time, equipment problems, and reducing scrap, etc.

Leading teams to identify and implement process improvements based on Lean Manufacturing principles.

Trains operators on procedures, methods, problem solving, prints, programming, quality requirements, team methods and safety.

Educates operators in the safety requirement of their department and plant. Coaches and leads personnel in safety and quality improvements, department inspections, safety surveys, and safety issues resolution and auditing.

Managing production, quality, safety and costs for the responsible department(s).

Resolves employee relation issues through effective remediation techniques.

Qualifications:

Two-year degree plus three to five years of manufacturing supervision experience is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred or an equivalent combination or education and experience.

Supervisory Responsibility:

To provide supervision to positions such as machine operators, machinists, assemblers, welders and other nonexempt employees.
