Responsibilities include the set-up, operation and maintenance of the MRP/ERP/Finite Scheduling systems. Additional responsibilities include the support of production data/metrics, evaluation of actual performance/output against the budget/plan, identification of production variances and a determination of their impact on annual budget goals. This person is further responsible for meeting FDAH customer service goals and achieving established inventory positions. Assure that materials and capacities are available to meet the needs of customers in a cost-effective fashion within the volumes as specified by Senior Management. Create constrained finite schedules using Tess (Taylor Advanced Scheduling Software) or other appropriate systems for the blend work centers. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Load the Master Schedule through the planning time fence to the volume specified and approved by Senior Management Creates and executes supply master plans. Compile and report monthly production metrics including manufacturing output, release rates, operations success rate, disposition activity, etc. Identify, negotiate and bring to resolution any demand/supply imbalances in both volume and mix Review and manage change requests from the FG supply planner, demand management and suppliers, making appropriate reschedules in accordance with the Master Schedule policy Recognize the need to maintain stability in the Master Schedule, while being responsive to the needs of the customer Participate in scheduling meetings with focus factory personnel (Mfg, quality) with emphasis on resolving outstanding issues, communicating schedule priorities and facilitating interdepartmental discussions. Create constrained weekly schedules for assigned work centers using Taylor Scheduler (Tess) or other appropriate finite scheduling software Communicate frequently with the FG supply planner to ensure final customer requirements are satisfied Manage the master schedule to stay within targeted percentage of the production plan as authorized by Senior Management Allow no past due within the master schedule Develop and maintain planning data, such as safety stock. lead times, production models, batch sizes, etc. Prepare for and participate in the Sales and Operations (S&OP) process, particularly the Supply Planning step Participate in the creation of an effective Master Scheduling policy Inform the appropriate individuals, per the Master Schedule policy, of any issues that cannot be handled within the framework of that policy Work with the focus factory to identify backlogs and bottlenecks and collaboratively resolve open issues Participate in continuous improvement and Springboard activities Facilitate cost reduction opportunity assessments; mapping manufacturing processes. Recommend and perform MRP/ERP maintenance as needed. Assists in system change control/validation/upgrades related projects (e.g. MRP/ERP system). Monitors and reconciles inventory, reviews distressed and expired inventory and obtains disposition. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Excellent computer skills required. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or 2-year degree and APICS certification with a minimum of 3 years experience of process industry in Supply Chain. 4 years experience in Supply Chain Planning or Scheduling Production process knowledge is required.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Working knowledge of materials management, planning and production. Prior career experiences as a production planner, strong MRP/ERP systems knowledge, experience working with all levels of management and overall product flow through the facility. Proficient personal computer skills, specifically on Microsoft platforms (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Access and MS Project and MRPII/ERP systems are critical. Ability to plan day to day as well as for the mid-term and long term. Use data from multiple sources to assist in that planning. Must be able to balance the needs of the customer with available capacity and materials in the most cost effective manner possible. Make timely and appropriate decisions while seeking input from multiple sources. Operates with and instills a sense of urgency. Utilizes standardized and recognized problem solving and decision factors. Ability to recognize what data (metrics or information) is needed to analyze business conditions and provide solutions. Ability to optimize schedules using available planning tools such as Prism and Tess. Overall supply chain performance which includes monitoring performance through scorecard reporting, aiding with the implementation of continuous improvement programs, and aiding with facilitating issue-resolution processes.
