Mechanical Design Engineer -Med Devices (Contract)

Responsibilities:The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of medical devices and may provide technical leadership to, or in concurrence with, project teams. Will design parts, make prototypes, write validation protocols, test, analyze data and generate reports.Minimum Qualifications: Must have at least 6 years related experience working with medical products and must be a team player who possesses good verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to meeting schedule and project milestones. Requires working knowledge of: - Materials - Mechanical Design - Biocompatibility and Sterility - Product/Process Validation Testing - Solid Modeling (Pro/E preferred) - Lab View - FEA and CFD - BSME Preferred Qualifications: - Pneumatics- Fluid flow, injection molding, extrusion, engineering plastics and/or elastomeric materials.- Advanced degree desirable Our generous benefits package includes the Alcon 401(k) Plan which matches employee contributions up to 5% of eligible pay at the rate of $1.00 for each dollar contributed, and the Alcon Retirement Plan (ARP), a qualified plan in which Alcon contributes 7% of eligible pay to the accounts of all eligible employees.
